Maoam is a German candy brand and is now part of German candy manufacturer Haribo. The candy from this German candy giant consists of soft chewy sweets with various fruit flavours. Maoam originated back in 1900 when Edmund Münster took over the liquorice factory Düsseldorfer Lakritzenwerk. At the time, production focused mainly on liquorice, but in 1930 Edmund Münster was licensed to make a new fruity sweet. He called the sweet Maoam and it was marketed as a "particularly tasty, highly sought-after and unique sweet".

In 1986, German candy manufacturer Haribo took over the Edmund Münster factory and production was moved to a modern plant in Neuss.
